Six independent diplomas

The six diplomas correspond to the six levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and are completely independent: candidates may register directly for the examination corresponding to their level without having to obtain the lower-level diplomas first.

For the DELF, candidates must obtain the required overall score while also meeting the minimum score requirements for each examination component in order to receive the diploma.

Who can take the DELF/DALF in Saudi Arabia?

You do not necessarily have to be a student at Alliance Française to take a DELF or DALF examination. Candidates can register for the examination corresponding to their level through the relevant Alliance Française centre. Candidates should carefully follow the registration procedure, registration deadlines and examination regulations communicated by the centre.

DELF & DALF are official French-language diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the French-language skills of non-French-speaking candidates. France Education Internationale (FEI) is responsible for the organization and certification of these examinations on behalf of the French Ministry of Education.

Internationally recognized and valid for life

DELF and DALF diplomas are internationally recognized and valid for life. They can be particularly useful for students and professionals wishing to study, work, or pursue opportunities in France and other French-speaking countries.

French higher education and French nationality

For admission to French higher education, a B2 level is commonly required for French-taught programmes, although requirements may vary depending on the institution and programme. For French nationality applications, the required level is subject to the current rules and should be checked with the relevant French authorities.
