The EUNIC Cluster, reunites the european countries and cultural institutions in the Kingdom in order to offer cultural events all around the year.

This year seven members of the EUNIC cluster – Goethe Institut, Alliance Francaise, Embassy of Spain, Embassy of Poland, Austrian Embassy, Embassy of Portugal and Embassy of Italy; will screen seven short movies in their original language with English subtitles.

Short Movie Night program :

8PM - Opening speech by the Eunic Cluster President and the Director of the Goethe- Institut KSA.

8:15PM- Beginning of the movie screenings 

Austria

Original Title in German: "Wenn ich mich zeichne, existiere ich dreifach"
EN translation: "When I Draw Myself, I Exist Threefold"


In her cinematic encounter with the painter and graphic designer Florentina Pakosta, Christiana Perschon shows a person seeking freedom who turns the artistic exploration of her face into a resistance against her own transience and patriarchal conditions.


Germany

 "Andersartig" by Dennis Stein- Schomburg

One child is different than the others. Because of her dreamily and sportive nature she doesn't match the generally accepted behavior of the other kids. Being different makes her more and more lonely. But in the end her loneliness saves her. This animated film visualises artist Hildegard Wohlgemuth’s memories.


Spain

“Tumbas Vecinas” (Neighbouring Graves) by José Antonio Gutierrez 

Lola, a lady obsessed with her deceased husband's grave be the cleanest and most beautiful of the entire cemetery, receives for the first time a worthy competition.


France


"Lola et le piano à bruits" by Augusto Zanovello.

Lola is the older sister of Simon, aged 5, who lives in a world of his own. By observing him, she notices how sensitive he is to small, hidden sounds. With her friend Rolih, she decides to build a noise machine to communicate with him.


Poland

"Penguin habits" by Jakub Poterała

"Mom saves penguins" – that’s how Emilia’s job would be described by her son, Antek. The day has come for Emilia to depart for a research station in Antarctica, and the boy must stay at home under his grandfather’s care. As events begin to spiral out of control, Emilia is faced with a difficult dilemma – can she balance her dreams and professional ambitions with being a mother?

La ragazza di Praga by Andree Lucini

La ragazza di Praga is a deeply personal documentary that explores family memory through the discovery of old photographs. Two siblings uncover their grandparents’ complex love story, which began in Prague during the Soviet occupation of 1968. Their voices intertwine with those of their mother and grandmother, offering a multi-generational perspective that explores family dynamics and shared memories.
